Control Unit

The PowerArc control unit is designed and manufactured in the US. It’s compact design and excellence in engineering make it the smallest ignition system on the market today. Though physically small, the powerful electronics and optical encoder/pickup make the PowerArc controller one of the most powerful on the market. When combined with the software programming ability and 4 map selectability, this is simply the best ignition solution on the market for older motorcycles such as the Z1 and CB750. Apexmoto offers a 12 month warranty on product and installation. Extended warranties can be purchased on request.

One of the major advantages of the PowerArc controller is the ability to switch maps on the fly.  Using a MAF ( Manifold Air Flow ) sensor and some electronics, it is possible to cause the PowerArc controller to switch maps on changes in intake air flow. So the ignition timing can be retarded when the engine is under load.

Typical installation costs is ¥35,000 ( excluding the hardware cost ) for a full system installed and tested on our Dynojet 250i dyno.

Coils

PowerArc coils are manufactured in the US to PowerArc’s specifications. The coils are highly efficiency and have built in driver, simplifying installations.

MC-1

The MC-1 miniature coil is a small single core single tower coil that can be easily daisy chained (multiple coils can be wired to fire off the same control signal). A single coil is typically used on one cylinder engines. Two coils are typically used on two cylinder engines with non-symmetrical cylinder angles (one coil core per cylinder), for example when single firing a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The coil features zero drain circuitry enabling the coil to be directly hooked to the battery bypassing old wiring and potentially troublesome connectors, ignition switches, kill switches etc. This allows for full current to the coil without current drain when not in use.

● Compact size allows for mounting in tight areas
● Zero drain circuitry
● Integrated power/signal terminal strip
● Integrated internal coil driver
● Can be daisy chained*
● Capable of 80,000 volts of output at high amperage
● Fast rise times means full voltage output in multi-spark
● Fires at low voltages for easier starting

*Do not daisy chain MC-1 coils when cross-firing an engine the increased on time will over heat the coil. Only fire coil for one power stroke per cam rotation. Do not use on 1 cylinder crank applications use the VS-1 coil instead.

MC-2

The MC-2 miniature coil is a small single core dual tower coil that can be easily daisy chained (multiple coils can be wired to fire off the same control signal). This coil is used to waste spark engines with symmetrical cylinder angles (45°, 60°, 90° or 180°) or when dual firing a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. One coil for every two cylinders is required.

● Can be daisy chained
● Capable of 80,000 volts of output at high amperage
● Fast rise times means full voltage output in multi-spark
● Fires at low voltages for easier starting

Typical applications include the Kawasaki Z1, KZ1000, KZ759, KZ650, MK II, GPZ1100, Z1-R, Honda CB750 K1 though K8.

VS-1

The VS-1 coil is a single core single tower coil that can be easily daisy chained (multiple coils can be wired to fire off the same control signal). A single coil is used on one cylinder engines. Two coils are typically used on two cylinder engines with non-symmetrical cylinder angles (one coil core per cylinder), for example when single firing a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The VS-1 coils can be used on one, two, three, four, six and 8 cylinder engines. One coil per cylinder is required. The coil pack features an integrated electronic switch allowing the coil to be directly hooked to the battery bypassing old wiring and potentially troublesome connectors, ignition switches, kill switches etc. This allows for full current to the coil while preventing current drain when not in use.

● Heat sink for increased life/reliability
● Integrated electronic power switch*
● Integrated power/signal terminal strip
● Integrated internal coil driver
● Can be daisy chained
● Automatic shutoff
● Capable of 80,000 volts of output at high amperage
● Fast rise times means full voltage output in multi-spark
● Fires at low voltages for easier starting

* Not compatible with positive chassis vehicles

VS-4

The VS-4 Quad Pack is a two core coil pack with four outputs that can be easily daisy chained (multiple coils can be wired to fire off the same control signal). It has two independent two output coils. It is typically used to waste spark 4 or 8 cylinder engines with 180 degree opposing cylinders. One coil pack is required for a 4 cylinder engine and two packs for an 8 cylinder engine. The coil pack features an integrated electronic switch allowing the coil to be directly hooked to the battery bypassing old wiring and potentially troublesome connectors, ignition switches, kill switches etc. This allows for full current to the coil while preventing current drain when not in use.

● Easy installation (mount only one coil pack for four cylinders)
● Heat sink for increased life/reliability
● Integrated electronic power switch*
● Integrated power/signal terminal strip
● Integrated internal coil driver
● Can be daisy chained
● Automatic shutoff
● Capable of 80,000 volts of output at high amperage
● Fast rise times means full voltage output in multi-spark
● Fires at low voltages for easier starting

* Not compatible with positive chassis vehicles

VS-6

The VS-6 Six pack is is a three core coil pack with six outputs used to waste spark six cylinder engines with 180 degree opposing cylinders. It has three independent two output coils. The coil pack can be easily daisy chained (multiple coils can be wired to fire off the same control signal). The coil pack features an integrated electronic switch allowing the coil to be directly hooked to the battery bypassing old wiring and potentially troublesome connectors, ignition switches, kill switches etc. This allows for full current to the coil while preventing current drain when not in use.

● Easy installation (mount only one coil pack for six cylinders)
